Grades - an easter project

To take a break from my bigger projects, I made a small digital board game.

This I called "Grades".

This gave me lot of insight into how unpractical, difficult and fruitless it is to make a game with Logic bricks in Blender BGE. So pointless, in fact, that it wasn't worth compiling it to real downloadable game, due to bugs that showed too heavy to solve.

The name "Grades" comes from its weak masonic references, especially numbers.
A 13x13 grid, with 33 tokens, and a middle "lodge" with checker floor in 7x7. And two "pillars" as players. Neat, huh?

The game features:

  • Two players (WASD and Arrow keys)
  • Random player start
  • Random token placement
  • Roll a 6 sided die to move

When all tokens are collected, each player must hurry to the "lodge" on their spot to get a bonus roll 1-10. This could make or break your stats, but having collected more tokens than your opponent, you stand stronger for the bonus roll. The players would then be evaluated for the winner.
